Course Description
This one-year programme, validated by QQI, is suitable for both mature students and school leavers who would like to work in the area of Community Health.
The overall aim of the programme is to provide learners with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and competence to work under supervision in a range of community health service settings or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.
Work Placement
Work experience is a core element of this programme and we will assist students in securing work experience placements.
Many graduates obtain employment as a result of their work experience placement.
Entry Requirements
QQI L4 or equivalent for all Level 5 courses.
If the Leaving Certificate has been completed, details should be submitted with your application.
Mature learners may be exempt from the academic requirements.
First round offers will be made in May to all eligible applicants with subsequent offers made in September.

Course Certification
This course provides graduates with a QQI Level 5 Community Health Services 5M4468 Major Award.
Progression
On completion of this programme, learners will have the skills, knowledge, and competencies to work under supervision in a range of community health service settings such as nursing homes, home care, community support, hospitals, and healthcare establishments.
Learners may also progress to further and/or higher education and training.
Through the QQI FET Links Scheme, graduates can apply for entry to Year 1 of related courses in Universities and Institutes of Technology with continuity of SUSI grant / BTEI if applicable.
