Course Overview This program is designed for aspiring primary and post-primary teachers, including mature students seeking a career change to teaching. It fosters excellence in teaching, learning, and research, underpinning holistic education for children and adults in an evolving Irish context.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
QQI L4 or equivalent for all Level 5 courses.
If the Leaving Certificate has been completed, details should be submitted with your application.
Mature learners may be exempt from the academic requirements.
First round offers will be made in May to all eligible applicants with subsequent offers made in September.

Further Study In Ireland Primary Teaching
Successful graduates can apply for Initial Teacher Education Access Programs (ITE) in various universities, including Maynooth University, Mary Immaculate College, and Marino Institute of Education. Students can progress to Level 8 degree programs and subsequently a Level 9 Professional Master of Education course for primary teaching. Post Primary Teaching
Eligibility to apply for 4-year concurrent education degree programs, leading to a post-primary teacher qualification, through the CAO, Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS), and Mature Entry Route. 

 Potential to apply for Level 8degree programs, followed by a Level 9 Professional Master of Education course for post-primary teaching. Further Study In the United Kingdom: Graduates can apply through UCAS for various primary and post-primary teaching degree programs in the UK, including the Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education at the University of Sunderland. Qualifications are recognized by the Teaching Council, subject to meeting required competencies, including Irish language proficiency. Further Study in the European Union:
Qualifications meet EU Directives, enabling recognition in all EU member states, granted by the Teaching Council. Graduates can consider entry to four-year International Bachelor of Education programs taught in English, such as the International Bachelor of Education at Stenden University of Applied Sciences Netherlands.
